Great link......but can we be sure the test is completely honest if he's placing the balls on the table by hand? It would'nt take too much of misalignment to give those results. I helped build a test piece for the same kind of test with golf clubs years back, testing deflection of off center hits. Having built the machine, the test was not hard to skew. Not that He was cheating, but I would have liked to see a simple jig that set the balls in place. That way the test would have really impressed me......Gerry

I agree, this guy is manually placing the ball for each of these tests. Who knows what variance there might be in doing this. I've shot with both the black dot and predator, and in my opinion the above test is probably skewed.

Probably so...just like Predator skews everything to come out the way it does in their tests. Hell, forget about placing the ball on the table, either Predator or anyone else can skew the results just a little by the tip size & radius and amount of chalk. They could even be using different weighted CB's or OB's.
How do you know?

Agreed. Anyone and everyone can and likely does, skew things in favor of their product. That is why I rely on personal experience to make my decisions.. :)

If you would like some unbiased test results go to www.platinumbilliards.com

Sure, they're unbiased. Shane used to work quite a long time for Predator... the tip sizes and tip radiuses are different... and some of the test results that were there a number of months back that were too close for comfort were removed. New tests for those cues were done and suddenly the numbers were higher than previously reported. And last but not least...when you go to their home page, what's the one cue that's highlighted under the lights in a picture that's for sale?

Hi Gerry,

on this years Valley Forge cue show we had our booth right to Bob Meucci''s ...He made that demonstration about 10 to 15 times per day(what a draggg). The Balls are always placed on a marked spot (a small plate on the cloth) so there was no cheating. We tested our cues & shafts as well with Bob's Myth Destroyer (That was the name of the machine) on invitation of Bob.

Regards,
Markus Funk

If you look at the position of the cues when they are actually "fired" they don't appear to be the same.

I suspect misdirection, being an amateur hack magician, to have everyone look at the placement of the balls and not notice that the cues at the mon=ment of stroke aren't in the same place.

I don't think they are cheating, but notice that the test is set to shoot with a side spin. I was wondering why he didn't set up straight in shot with center ball hit. The shot is with medium stroke and english on it which is good for Meucci. I've been playing with Meucci for 5 years and I've notice that is it good for using with english and slow to medium stroke, but it fails on hard stroke shots due to lots of deflection.

What size tip do you use and what radius?

The whole video is a joke, if you look he is actually firing the ball out of a divot which is going to cause the ball to become airborn. Second the cue is not level and the tip placement is below center wich is going to cause the ball to masse when it does land. Atleast if you look at the Predator robot it fires balls with a level cue that holds the ball in place from behind without obstruction.
