Brown Phenolic

Any suggestions on speeding up the process of making the brown darker, tried some stain but still not the color im looking for. dont have months to wait.

Hobby Lobby India Ink get the deep brown it works well. They have a ton of colors and it get in deep and stays.
It has worked well for me.

Home depot, lowes and even walmat carry the guardsman stain pens. Their made to touch up furniture and you can layer them for the desired color. They come 3 in a pack in different shades of brown. Works very well, but as with most stains, they can smear if the sealer/finish re-activates them. No matter what you use, Test on a scrap piece first with sealer and finish waiting the normal times. I would give atleast 24 hr dry time just on the stain itself.

Not too long ago someone posted on this. Do a search for the details, but the basic idea is: machining the phenolic parts close to size, then baking them at low temperature. I've been wanting to try this, just haven't had time.

Have you tried analine dyes?

Burnish them with a wet paper towel just like you do the side of a tip. It will darken them up a little.
