The cue looks very nice and is in original condition. The linen wrap was falling apart so I removed it. When I rolled the cue, the tip lifts about 1/8". The Brunswick 26 1/2 was first listed in Brunswick Catalogs around 1914, and it was also the first to have Veneered Points.

Did they really make these with a wrap over a wedge?

Commonly yes. This one would have had a silk wrap originally, and it could be turned down to wrapless fairly easily, the groove is very shallow
