Brunswick Gold Crown vs Brunswick Medalist table questions

How can I tell the difference between these two tables from a visual standpoint. In addition can anyone tell me if there is a playability difference between the two tables.

Will I be as happy with a Medalist table as I would with a Gold Crown?

Thanks

My former pool hall had a dozen GCIIIs and a dozen Medalists. They used the same slates and had the same rubber in the rails. The GCIII's adjustable feet made leveling easier, the Medalists were leveled by placing shims under the feet. The GCIII pockets were screwed or bolted in (I don't remember which) while the Medalist pockets were nailed in and occasionally they would loosen after a lot of play. If the nails work loose, they could potentially damage the balls. Used Gold Crowns are fairly cheap and in my opinion, a better choice than Medalists although properly set up Medalists will play exactly like Gold Crowns.

The overall play on a gc is so much better then a mettalist. You can tell the difference from the legs also the mettalist is a bit noisy afyer pocketing a ball . Junk in my opinion . The gold crown is the best table

The Medalist has one piece long rails, the gold crowns 2.... broken at the side pockets

Hi i have a medaist 8 ft pro . Its a good playing table . But not quite as good as a goldcrown in terms of playability . The medalist table lacks ball action as compared to a goldcrown imo . Its an ok table

The Medalists I have played on did have the built in score reels though we always used coins under the rails instead.

Those things are good for nothing but maybe scratching the finish of your cue. Good idea that was impractical and all but useless.

Table

The medalist is a kids toy compaired to a GC.
The medalist is basically a home furniture framed table.

The GC is in a class of its own
