So Brunswick has come out with a "Tournement Edition" Metro table with 4.5" pockets. Why not at "TE" Gold Crown? I have a GC4 with factory set up. Ready to re-cloth in next few years. Could a mechanic take the Metro TE rubber and put it on a GC? Just curious.

Someone told me Brunswick's tables can be ordered with a smaller pocket size from the factory ,not just the metro, can anyone in sales confirm/deny this?

It is the same rubber, they are not sold pre-cut.

My brunswick rep told me that the gold crown can be ordered that way but I don't know about the rest of thier line.

Brunswick started doing this at the end of 2005. I think that Charlie Williams had alot to do with this to have tighter tables to use for the pro events. I have not seen any Gold Crown 4's done this way yet but I have seen the Metros. They use the Metros at most of the pro events that Brunswick sponsers. I will be in Vegas next week for the UPA event and I will try to find out.

Most of the Gold Crown 4's I work on, they have me extend the rails and recut the pocket angles. most of the players and pool rooms want pockets smaller than 4.5" for their players tables.

Brunswick has two T.E. tables the Metro and th Gold Crown. They have made some changed to the new Gold Crown.I've seen it, it looks good and will be available in the T.E. edition.4 1/2 pockets. They got the extended rail concept from Mark Gregory.
