This is my dad's table. He bought it about 30 years ago when a pool hall closed down. looks like this: http://www.brunswickbilliards.com/our_rich_history/antique_tables/regina4or6leg.html
We are just planning to replace the rubber and felt and refinish the rails for now. It is the 9' model with pockets. I'll be taking pictures of the process of course, but we need to start ordering up some stuff!

Questions...
  1. best rubber for this table/where to order. I read in another post artemis... do these old brunswick use continental k66? is that compatible with the current model of k55? we don't want to modify anything during this.
  2. best cloth. definately want green. Is sommonis 860 hands down the best? who sells it at the best price?
  3. any percautions to take because of the age of the wood? they seem strong buy my dad is afraid they might be a little brittle

THanks!

That table (unless it was modified before your Dad got it) came with Monarch cushions which are the K55's. In Artemis lingo, they are the Intercontinental #66 and would be an excellent choice. Expensive but, excellent and I would assume you'll only be replacing them once in your lifetime right?

I prefer Simonis to all of the worsted cloths out there for 9' pool tables. There are other good cloths but it's my choice.

Take it slow and watch for splintering and perhaps some rot. It can be routed out and replaced where/if necessary. When removing the cushions, I use a 3" putty knife behind the cushion while lifting it off the subrail. It helps relieve any pressure on the old wood and may help keep it place.

Good luck :)
