Hello

We bought a Brunswick Contender Series, the Tremont, the mechanic installed it incorrectly and it plays horrible. The rails have a terrible thud whenever you come into them with any sort of speed. The cloth is the common cheap nap cloth you get "with the table. Also in one corner I have a bit of a leveling issue i believe. Roll towards the long rail. I have checked the rail bolts, and had the mechanic back to check it. Hes a true piece of work and says "Thats all I can do for ya. My question is, considering this is a lower end table, would it be worth it to try to repair it? Please keep in mind I'm quite a serious player. Playability is by far my biggest concern. I'm really upset over this.. The rebound of the rails is also very un accurate.

If we repair, I would like to go with Simonis 860/ artemis k66 cushions.

My guess is that you are looking at another 1K in repairs if the rails need to be replaced and the cloth is switched. I am not an expert, but, this seems to be the norm in my area. 480.00 for cloth, 250.00 for rails, and the service run cost.

Might be better off buying a Diamond or commercial grade table in the long run.

Could you have bought a cheaper Brunswick? If you're a serious player, then why in the heck did you buy this table instead of a used GC if you prefer a Brunswick table? 1 1/2" thick rails don't leave much option for cushions unless the rails are built to take a better cushion. Brunswick didn't even put Super speed cushions on this line of tables....what were you even thinking when you bought it.

So, I guess to answer your question...no, it's not worth the investment to fix your table up to be a "players" table, so sell it for what ever you can get out of it....and buy a real "players" table....sorry
