I talked to Bucktooth and he said even though he aint played 9-Ball in 15 years and cant make a ball straight in the hole he's going back to his old principles. Anyone in the world who wants to play can start off at a minimum $2000/game 1-Pocket or $1000/game 9-Ball and go all the way up to no limit pool from there. Just beat him and its like winning every pool tournament in the United States. He would rather play 1-Pocket but if the game is right he will play 9-Ball. Any interested players can contact him thru the message board at his website and he will respond. Or find Bucktooth at Family Billiards in San Francisco, California Billiard Club in Mountain View, The Broken Rack in Emeryville, or in the up coming months at his all new billiard room in Manteca.

Man, that Bucktooth must be one heck of a character. Would probably put PT Barnum to shame. His favorite song has to be the theme from "The Sting". He is in a class by himself. And I don't mean any of this in a demeaning way at all. Would love to be able to watch him in action. Jake
Bucktooth gave a pool exhibition in April and recently loses 10 K because "he can't make a straight in ball" and now he will play anybody one pocket or 9 ball for thousands. Does that sound like a man that is too old to make a ball, old and frail and must have lost his pool skills? NOT! Just like Archie Moore when he had grey in his hair and a young fighter said he can't beat up on an old man. The corner men tried to tell him to be careful but after a few rounds he came out of his "peek a boo" an knocked the kid out! Go get em Bucktooth!
But what if it's true that father time has reared his ugly head and tapped Bucktooth on the shoulder and Bucktooth is just not willing to accept it? All that money for the taking. $10,000, $50,000, $100,000. How much is Bucktooth willing to lose before he realizes he is at the end of his rope? Maybe Bucktooth is really sick and just wants to give the money to some worthy opponent rather then leave it in his estate. I'm sure there must be some worthy opponents out there ready to help old Bucktooth. Poor Bucktooth. Jake---now I have to get Shooting off the Rail off my shelf and reread it.

He was trying to get some action going and he was doing all the talking. He had everyone listening to him. He bet anyone that he had more $100 bills than anyone with $1 bills. He had everyone mesmerized. He really is a character to watch!

I saw Bucktooth in action one year up in Reno when he Efren cornered in the stairwell talking a woofing at him. Bucktooth knew he was drawing a crowd and the more people came the more he began woofing at Efren. Finally security came and broke it all up, too bad it was a great show and Efren had a big smile on his face enjoying it like everyone else!

You forgot to mention the part about him not playing unless he's getting a TON of weight. He shows up at all the tournaments and barks at the players to give him all the weight in the world. Getting the nuts and betting high when you have them doesn't take much heart. He's definitely entertaining though. I'll give him that. He has to have more one-liners than anyone alive!

Maybe you missed the post where Bucktooth lost $10,000 getting the 5, 7, 8 and the breaks. You cant call it getting the nuts if he still cant win with that much weight. Now I see people offering Bucktooth the 4 out but he would rather play 1-Pocket cause he cant see straight no more and no one can run rack after rack in that game. You got to admit not too many players are willing to bet that big when they cant run 2 balls and when you beat Bucktooth you can really win something.Jimmy M. said:

There is NOTHING wrong with ASKING for the weight. Obviously Pookie felt like he could give the weight and he got there. But I guess the Tooth didn't have the LOCKDOWN ROYAL HUNGARIAN NUTS - just the plain old nuts

Tonight I just reread the stories in Rags to Rifleman where Buddy gave the seven to Louie Roberts FIVE times and beat him each time and where Weenie Beenie got the seven and had to quit. Sometimes players just OUTRUN the nuts. I've been on both sides.

Corel Deuel may have lost with the 7 and the breaks but Corey can only get better. Bucktooth asks for crazy games but what good is it if he cant make 2 balls? Bucktooth is getting older and cant even see straight to make a ball so he misses 3 or 4 times a game which is more than any decent player needs to rob him. I think the poor guy needs a seeing eye dog to even get thru the front door of the poolhall. The guy lost $10,000 at $500/game -- thats 20 games! One time he was playing Keith in Castro Valley and he was stuck $14,000 and the bet never went over $200. He lost over 100 games ahead playing for 3 days straight. Bucktooth never quits because he never runs out of money he just goes home and gets more. Any good unknown East Coast players I would like to go partners with cause we can play Bucktooth and hit the lottery.

Is this Bucktooth guy for real? Does he really bet that much? Does anyone know the best place to find him at? I went to Family Billiards last night at about 11 but they told me I had just missed him. Some guy there told me he watched Bucktooth play 9 ball and break 25 times and never made a ball. I'm on vacation in California right now and would like to make a nice score before I go back home.
