Another Buddy Hall story...
Several years ago, during the DCC, I decided to drive over to Louisville and spectate for a couple of days.
After a morning of watching Efren play nine-ball, and gawking at Miss Lee, I began to feel a bit peckish so decided to head for the restaurant in the hotel where I had heard a reasonably priced buffet had been set up. The main entree that day, as I recall, was Turkey with dressing. After filling my plate I found a table near the end of the serving line.
As I was enjoying my Turkey, a rolled roast if I remember, but none-the-less tasty, I saw out of the corner of my eye that a rather large man had sidled up to my table and was standing there watching me.
I looked up and low and behold it was Buddy. A bit taken aback I said, "Hi, Buddy, how's the one pocket going?"
He said, "Fine. Can I have that?" and pointed at a spoon lying on the table top.
"I said sure, go ahead."
Whereupon he grabbed the spoon, went over to the buffet and ladled a half gallon of gravy over his entire plate.
This is a true story. What makes it even funnier is that it was a teaspoon.
