so for those of you who have seen this video what did you think.

I thought it definitely showed a lot of the basic bank shots, but doesn't touch the beard dvds.

For those of you that saw the DVD did anyone else agree that table had the biggest pockets you've ever seen?

Both have great value. No bank shot is a gimme on every table. Considering Bugs just passed away, I for one, appreciate anything he has left behind. Why not just enjoy both?

Although I've never seen the Beards stuff(i hear it's great) I got ALOT out of the Bugs video. Even though he uses a ton of juice on just about every shot, I have used MANY of the shots in game situations. The Production of the video is marginal at best. And yes, the pockets are huge. BUT there is basically no video of Bugs, so in that regard, it's a treasure. I had offered to make some DVD copies of the video if anyone wanted. And offered to send any money(after costs) to his family. I don't know who holds the copyright or distribution, but I know it's out of print and not too many copies exist.

you can't buy it, but its available in digital form if you know what i'm saying.

I'm not knocking the video its just different and yes the pockets are outrageously huge.

In my very humble opinion, The Beards video is more instructive. I have both volumes of Bug's tapes, but transferred to DVD. The quality is poor but you can see and hear everything. That's all you really need. Bugs was very close to being in a class by himself so it's nice to have a remembrance of him and his playing.

Freddy advocates hitting most bank shots very firmly and without much English. He admits some shots that "don't go" need a little juice to get there. Bugs seemed to load up the cue ball on almost every shot. Just a different style. Both worked. I recommend Freddy's DVD...Tom

I have not seen Freddy's but it will be tough to beat Chicago Bugs video. I have learned a lot from the Bugs video and combined them with Hal's method to make me a better Banker. Using Hal's method you can make the same shots that Bugs makes without all the juice!

I lived within 60 miles of bugs & never got to see him play, something i will always regret. ANY video of him is worth having.

I have the contact info for his family if you, or someone else wants to do that. You might kind of be on your own selling it, though, because of the whole copyright issue. I personally wouldn't touch re-selling it, even though it is actually a good cause (if the money goes to his family) because of the copyright laws. His wife had heart surgery around the time he died. She now lives with his daughter (if my info is still current).

I have a vhs version, but have no way of knowing if it is an original or a copy itself. I bought it in a poolroom (from their display case, not a patron, lol)...
