No one person has it all, so let's take the best of each category and make up our one super player.
This super player will play one pocket, banks, straight pool, 9 ball, and 8 ball.

Break
Kicks
Safety play
Banks
Creativity
Stroke (Best stroke might very well not be even close to the best player)
position play
getting out of a bad spot
Intimidation factor
Longevity
Tournament
Cash
Short races
Very long races

Answer from one to all of them, but please try to not just put one name for them all.

Break: SVB
Kicks: Efren
Safety Play: Efren
Banks: Eddie Taylor
Creativity: Efren
Stroke (Best stroke might very well not be even close to the best player): Steve Mizerak
Position Play: Buddy Hall
Getting out of a Bad Spot: Nick Varner
Intimidation Factor: Earl Strickland
Longevity: Irving Crane
Tournament: Mike Sigel
Cash: Jose Parica
Short races: PoolBum
Very long races: SVB

Great minds think alike! Very well done

One correction Cornbread for the cash. Parica was a monster as well.

Fun thread idea!!

EFREN. sorry but that's the way it is.

I have a feeling mine is going to look a lot like PoolBum's, but here goes:

Break: SVB
Kicks: Efren
Safety play: Efren
Banks: Brumback
Creativity: Efren
Stroke: Mizerak. Beauty and Power.
Position play: Rempe. I think Rempe is one of the best "decision makers" the game ever knew.
Getting out of a bad spot: Efren. The Z Shot is the greatest "out of a bad spot" ever.
Intimidation factor: Sigel
Longevity: Crane
Tournament: Sigel
Cash: Buddy Hall
Short races: Really hard to say, but I guess Earl given his explosiveness and ability to put up packages in his prime. Nowadays in a winner break format, no one has to like a race to 7, especially in 9 ball.
Very long races: SVB or Alex.

Great post, thanks.

I gotta give Rafael Martinez at least an honorable mention for creativity, stroke, and intimidation. I can't argue with any of the others mentioned. I'm also wondering why Johnny Archer doesn't get more recognition. I can't say he does those things better than the guys listed but he had quite a run in the 90s. I'm not sure what skill they are the best at but I have to think Orcullo and Bustamante are in the conversation. Maybe I'm building the second best pool player.

So go down the list and add the players you think are best at those categories.
