There is a new product I am introducing into the market. It is the new Gulyassy ferrule/tip. It is virtually unbreakable. It holds chalk better than the canvas phenolic that we have all been using for the last 5 or 6 years. I am using it on all new break jump cues that I am producing. A patent will be issued in the next month or so on this new material. The new patent will include all the phenolic ferrule/tips that are used on cues. I will be selling ferrule/tips with a license to install them to individuals who are interested. I am confident enough in this new ferrule/tip to offer a lifetime warranty on it and if it ever breaks cracks or chips I will replace it free, no shipping and handling charges. I will even pay to have it shipped to my shop.

The All in one Pool Kit comes with a break jump butt, one playing shaft with my new taper,(no drag), and a medium Moori tip. The break shaft has the same taper with my new Gulyassy ferrule/tip. There is a short jump handle for close jumps and a long jump handle for those controlled jumps, that can substitute for an extension making the cue 63 inches, and it all comes in a black or brown hard case.

Here is some more interesting facts about the new material. The patent office uses a hardness scale called the Shore D scale. All the results that I will give have been tested at the Polymer Lab by Mark Weiss who is a chemist that does testing for a living.
I had linen based phenolic (like the black rings on a lot of cues, and the white ferrules on a lot of cues like Joss and most of your custom cue makers) and canvas based phenolic, (the most popular break jump material, black and brown) tested. They are 92. The cue balls made from a phenolic resin are 94 on the scale. G 10 epoxy is 95. The material that holds chalk the best is the linen and canvas based phenolic because it has the linen and the canvas incorporated in its makeup. You can see the 2 materials wove around the phenolic. The linen is a tighter weave and has a smoother look than the canvas. One advantage of the canvas over the linen is that when cut the canvas will show the weave to look like fuzz, this is why it holds chalk so well. This is what I saw back in 2001 when I first cut a ferrule out of the canvas rod, formed a tip, saw the fuzz and realized that it would hold chalk. After I jumped my first ball the patent was on.

Your attempting to patent this existing material or just the use of this material for a break/jump tip ?
 
All types of materials will hold chalk. Using a TipPik to tap the material I can get any ferrule to hold sufficient chalk to apply generous amounts of spin to the ball.

Mike, I hope that you aren't patenting the switching of shafts. On the Fury Jump Break a lot of folks purchase that and a regular shaft so that they have a playing cue and a JB cue in one. Because of the Fury quick release joint it makes it super easy to switch. I just wanted to let you know that this option has been available for years.
 
You do know that the flared handle was an invention of the German jump cue makers. It was invented so that the handle wouldn't slip down into the tubes of the tube cases used at the time. I brought it to America with the Bunjee Jumper which was created by Franz Hauber in Schwaebish Hall. I just want to make sure that the record is straight on all these aspects that are being tossed around as innovative. Geez I sound like a such a knocker here and perhaps I am being a bit skeptical about the whole concept without any real knowledge of what it is you are actually patenting.

I just don't want to wake up and find out that we aren't "allowed" to sell regular shafts and break shafts, or jump cue handles in various lengths with flared ends. I get the whole package that you are putting together but that in and of itself is hardly patentable I would think.

If you have a new material that you have discovered or invented then sure, patent it.

The package though - I don't think so for a patent. I am probably wrong though and the patent office has granted a patent for a combination of existing products.

There is the same quick release joint in all the joints.

The patent will be issued in a month or so. The examiner has allowed my new material and the old material and more.

John Parker of Auerbach Custom Cues makes Jump Cues with a flared butt. He makes the flared part look semi-different on each Jump Butt. The jump Cue in my case looks similar to this, but has a flare like the Lucasi Cues. It has 2 different length butts that are connected... like the Predator Air Jump. Nice set of cues..

Break and jump with a new Gulyassy ferrule/tip, it's guaranteed against breaking and cracking or I'll pay for the replacement.
