What is also interesting about the Dr Dave result is that the shaft owner had no problems with the shaft. The double-hit and the differing responses using the Time Crystal tip depending on the player are new to me. Here is the owner's comments on Reddit:

I can def get a double with a softer tip. I have a bad habit of over-accelerating thru the shot. We all know what happens if that comes up when you're close to another ball.

My recommendation to anyone buying a CF shaft would be to do your homework first. 3k, 15k tow?? Filament wound, or??
Read up and find out what each of those mean and how one may appeal to your style of play moreso than the other.
It would suck to lay down 3 to 500 bucks for a shaft to find out it's too stiff or vice versa.
Even with a decent return policy, it's a hassle I'd want to avoid.

Yeah, I just found that out this morning. I was really hoping to buy another Shaft as I already have one and I really liked it, but wanted another one for a different cue.

I have a 30" custom made 15k tow that Robert @ OC Billiards, ('Bulletproof') made for me about a year ago.
Plays extremely well. Don't see any diff between it and Cynergy or Revo.

If you see a seam on your shaft it is not filament wound, all of the Becue shafts I own are filament wound, it makes a difference, plus Becue builds different shafts for different types of hit, my favorite is the Prime II, to me it has the perfect balance of feedback and stiffness of a CF shaft, it has some flex but not as much as thinner wooden shafts, this is the best playing cue I have ever owned.

Sounds like it has different tows woven together. 3k gives you the flex. Higher toe count gives you stiffness with thinner tube walls. Weight reduction.
