Bulletproof Recoil tips 7 month later

I have been playing Bulletproof blue soft for about 7 months now. I noticed a bit of mushrooming on it, by feeling with my fingers it is just noticeable. I took some calipers and measured in two locations, first right by the ferrule, and secondly, at it's widest spot. The difference is approximately 10 thousandths of an inch. Also, when striking the cue ball I have been leaving some pretty aggressive chalk marks on it. They were able to be cleaned up with some Aramith polish, but seemed noticeably worse than with leather tips. I have been using Master chalk so that shouldn't be a problem. Both of these issues seem to surprise me, I never thought the tip wouldn't mushroom, although it is not a great deal, it still has mushroomed a little bit. The marks on the cue ball are a bit disturbing because eventually it will scratch it up. Striking the cue ball with various shots you can hear a difference in sound, the synthetic tip gives more of a ringing sound then the standard leather tips do. I probably play 4 hours a week on my home table. I've attached a photo below, and the mushrooming can be seen easiest on the bottom side of the photo, but can be seen on top or bottom if you look carefully.
Hey Tom, could that be left over from the original shaping of that tip?? Or has it happened over time??

To tell you the truth, I am not sure one way or another, I just assume it was perfectly even when it was installed. The guy that installed it is very meticulous and professional, though. I got to believe it has happened over time, ever so slightly, but not 100% sure. Also, I am going to start playing with a leather tip at home and see how the cue ball looks after some play with the leather tip. The scuffs that were left on the cue ball were more prominent than I would expect from any tip, except for hard abrasive breaking tips.

They can leave a mark. I make sure to wipe my cb off when it starts holding chalk and junk like that. Gives me a chance to see if my tip is making solid contact with the CB or if I'm getting half tip or some other % unintentionally. I like to see that nice round blue spot.😉 Unless I'm way out there on the ball.

I've had the same tip on for 20-25 hrs of play now, and I've noticed the same thing. Only when I use Master, though. At home I use Taom V10, and it doesn't do the same thing.

I think if you chalk less often the scuff will go away, it's a hard habit to break after being taught to chalk up every shot, these tips hold chalk better than a leather tip.

Yeah, I reckon that's true. You're right that it's hard not to, though. Swiping my chalk a few times is just kind of a habit now when I'm looking at the next shot.

Welcome to the club. Masters is dirty, but my drug of choice!!😉
I wash my hands mid way thru a practice session so my shafts don't get too bad.

I use a Dr. V's magnetic chalk holder so I always have it at my side, I'm 4 years into using TAOM V 10 chalk and I'm just getting used to not chalking on every shot......

I have some v10, I just might use that at home exclusively from now on.
I don't use anything else anymore I'm still on my 2nd piece of chalk after 2 years, when I 1st heard 1 piece of chalk cost $20.00 I said I would never spend that much money for 1 piece of chalk, I ordered a chalk holder and to get free shipping I needed to spend more dollars, so long story short I ended up paying $10 for it, after nearly 2 years I bought a new piece and gave the other to a team mate, I calculated that it cost me about 25 cents a month, cleaner, covers well, and no more expensive than most chalk.
