Bummer

Like many people throughout the world, I was hopeful that the IPT would indeed make it - for the good of our Sport. Pool is going down the same path as bowling, and the IPT was the only major event with the potential to boost the games' popularity since TCOM.

The naysayers were quite annoying, and sometimes their doom&gloom predictions ticked me off. They had the IPT dead & buried before the first KOTH tourny. But now....

32 days and no money. Jeez. This really gives my a heavy heart, both for the athletes who absorbed all the "IPT Tourny Attendance Expenses", as well as for the future of the game itself.

That's just what we need, another friggin Promoter who doesn't pay the players. There is a loooong list of POS Promoters that have done this through the years and KT is now following in their footsteps. KT has caused permanent damage, even if the checks magically appear tomorrow.

I will admit that I'm no M&A expert, but I didn't fail that class in Business School, either. I promise you that in any legitimate, healthy Merger or Acquisition, creditors are still paid timely and Payroll is rarely 3-days late, and never 30 days late. So for KT to blame the delay on the pending merger with Ho Interactive is total, unadulterated BS.

So I'm bummed. I had visions of millions of new players and pool halls popping up all over the place, like it was the 80s again. That's the impact the IPT could have had. A pool player on a Wheaties box! Instead, it appears the IPT will be just another black mark for all of us. Bummer.

Well, time to go hit some balls.

Yes, KT is not paying the players probably because he believes that they should be paid as the IPT makes money. He's most likely drawing the line and is now treating the IPT as a business that will either sustain itself or will collapse.

BTW, how's that Whitten?
