I've a cue made by Joss (not Joss branded) that uses the Joss-style 1/2" threaded stem bumper. I removed the bumper and damaged it in the process. Upon removal, I discovered the 1/2" hole in the butt is only threaded to accommodate the short length of thread on the bumper. I was planning to add about 3/4 ounce of weight to the cue but see now simple means to do so.
I'm looking for suggestions as well as a new bumper for the cue. Prefer a bumper with the same stem but offers more thickness of the bumper than does the standard Joss bumper. OR....I thought perhaps a 3/4" long 1/2-13 threaded steel weight screw might be modified to accept a screw-on type bumper, only problem is that I haven't the tools or material to make such a project. The butt cap is flat bottomed with the only hole being that for the original bumper (plenty of depth but not threads).
