Burl processing

Is there any particular way to process a burl, like cut with the original grain direction of the tree or across the grain?

Burl grain goes every which way, so cut it whichever way maximizes the figure.

That burl looks like if you are lucky you may get a segmented handle or two out of it. BTDT
