Burton Spain Cue question ...

New wrap for this Burton Spain cue.
Anyone know what the two plugged holes were for?
They go all the way thru.

I bet someone added weight to it. Grab a magnet and see if it senses set screws in there .

That was done by various cuemakers to add weight and balance exactly where they wanted it. I saw this on some early Meucci cues also. I did it myself a few times way back.
