Yap, you read it right. Bustamante is in danger of not playing
the world pool of his poor showing on Asian 9-ball leg by San Miguel.
Despite his world no. 1 status he could end up of unable to play
because he is right now on no. 11 on that tour and only the top 10
could enter the World Pool on Taipei this year. However he still have
his last chance on the last tournament of the leg which will be held
here in the Philippines, if he would wound up better then he will
have every chance to play otherwise if he will be eliminated on the
1st round and probably 2nd round, that would be disaster for him.
But i dont know if the World Pool body would give him an exception
if he will lose. Or would he humble enough to play by playing with other non seeded player to qualify as a wild card for the tournament, in which
would be awkward for the world no. 1 player.
What do you think? :(

I would think that he would still be invited by matchroom even if he doesnt make the top 10 of the asian 9-ball rankings

Busta can get the wild card imo.
But, the way he's playing right now, it might not matter.
He needs to get on track.

He'll still get the wildcard from matchroom...either way he's either gonna get invited or win one of those tournaments.

The last 16 from the previous year get automatic qualification. I am pretty sure Busta made the last 16 (beaten on the hill by Hohmann after rattling the 5 ball). So he will be there, but will his game show up as well?

I think having a bad season wouldn't keep him out from the WPC... a player of his caliber is probably seeded in the tourney. Earl has played worst before but he shows up everythime at the world pool.

I think the Asian 9 ball qualifier is for those other asian hopefuls trying to make it to the WPC
