He played pretty sporty.
 
That was higher-quality video than I was expecting, thanks for sharing. Yeah, he knew his way around a table. The cloth looked fairly fast, too.

Only annoyance was the mid-inning rearrangement of balls back into a cluster around the bomb ball.

Yes! He did perform the tricks in Sherlock Jr. (1924) all by himself. He practiced them for four months straight along with a pool expert and filmed it in a five day sitting. Once done, all the shots were pieced together to look like a continuous game of pool.

Yes. Note that he did have a stroke, so had obviously played more than a little bit. The magic of film is that you can try the shot twenty times until you make it, and the shots in Sherlock Jr. and The Electric House were nothing particularly difficult.

The second observation — since his face is clearly shown — is that it had to be him, as they obviously did not have the technology yet to switch faces (as they did when Schwarzenegger flew a jet in True Lies).
