Butcher's, Johnson's or Q Wax?

I was all set to wax up two new shafts to keep them slick and looking new, but ran into some problems:

1. I am still looking for Butcher's Bowling Alley Wax locally (New Orleans). The Ace Hardware Superstore website has it, but shipping is more than the wax, bringing the total to $22/can. I e-mailed Butcher's, and they cannot (or would not) tell me who the local retailers are.

2. Is Johnson's paste wax just as good? Please comment if you have used both.

3. Some posters say Butcher's BAW gets sticky in high humidity. (Not good for New Orleans!) If true, can this be avoided? Is it an application (technique) issue?

4. Some posters say Karseal Q Wax (available at Meuller's and probably many other billiard supply houses) is even better. Please comment if you have used this and the other waxes.

Any advice is appreciated. (I know how to keep a shaft slick; I want to seal the pores so it stays clean too.)

Your best bet to seal the pores of a shaft is to use a quick coat of sanding sealer. Once dry, hit the shaft with some 600 grit to remove the sealer from the surface of the shaft, then wax with Butcher's BAW. Apply the wax, let it dry for about 5 minutes, then buff/polish until slick.
 
I actually bought mine on eBay. I believe a number of the vendors have a buy it now price.
