Here it is.For those who don't know of Butera's...?
Beautiful. Sigh.Moorpark, CA.
"Time to start a new chapter....we have been unable to negotiate with our unreasonable landlord, and will be closing Butera's in Moorpark. It is our plan to reopen an even better Butera's when we're able to find a location and be able to get back to business after the California restrictions. That being said, everything must go....pool tables, sports memorabilia, cues & cases, accessories, neons, TV's, stools and pub tables, etc...
Thank you to all of our pool family and friends that have supported us over the last 12 years. A special thank you to those that reached out to us during the shut down and holidays.
Sal will be joining up with Weststate Billiards and Gamerooms in Newbury Park ( formerly Billiards and Barstools) and will still be available to help you with all out with pool tables, pool accessories, and service."

Something tells me that any re-opening is pretty far down the road if ever. Only reason i could see for selling off the entire inventory. Paying California storage rates for that much stuff would get pricey QUIK. I agree on the landlord deal. These people gotta eat and pay bills too. Sometimes getting a negotiated reduction is just not doable.why would he be selling everything if he planned on reopening someplace else. doesnt make sense.
i wish all pool rooms could make it but thats not reality.
too bad he had to close but the unreasonable landlord comment is what gets me. some seen to think the landloard should for go rent or give below market rent because your business hasnt grown with the economy.
Why is greed in play here? I assume you're referring to the landlord. Its not his fault that the tenant is struggling. He has bills and obligations also.Greed ruins great things.
I remember the day when a family could afford to buy a house, feed the kids, buy a car, on a single income.
By "remember" I mean I saw it on old TV and read about it in History class. (and I'm not a young guy)
I looked at the shop. center whre they're located. Nothing fancy. Just your generic strip center. Looks like other places there have folded as well. No telling what the $$ situation. The company that actually owns it may be wanting to sell the whole place. You never know.Yes I agree with you Garczar. The landlord is probably looking at big time property tax liabilities, so it’s just a tough situation for all. Hopefully they get some stimulus money are able to reopen soon.
Cali's ridiculous taxes and regulations are as much to blame as anything. Not to mention that brainead lefty a-hole they have for a governor. Newsome has done NOTHING to help small businesses.I think the poster who complained about greed has a valid point to. Property values going through the roof out in CA have played a big part in the demise out in CA to.
I don't know enough about this to point fingers. What I do know is that Texas is going the same route as CA, and we are definitely a red state. My property taxes are eating me up due to property values going crazy high. When property values continue to increase at a rate well above wage increases then we are headed for disaster in my opinion.Cali's ridiculous taxes and regulations are as much to blame as anything. I don't know about the 'definitely red' part. Turning bluer by the year. With all the Calif. tech co's coming to Texas its gonna get worse. Used to be just Austin had all the nutjobs but not any more.I don't know enough about this to point fingers.
