Butt matter for break cue shaft?

Hi. I have a dual ended Purple heart jump cue which separates leaving the longer length to be used for breaking. I did not buy a butt from the maker and am wondering if there is anything special about pairing one with the shaft. Both shafts have radial pins.
 
I don't know what dual ended means but it should be no problem to match a shaft to them if they are true uni loc radial threads.
