Butt Protection

I have been thinking about getting a really nice Butt (wrap-less). But I have noticed that light scratches are almost unavoidable. Granted they usually happen to the clear coat on top of the paint/stain. I don't want to wear out the clear coat with constant buffing either. So, the question is:

Has anyone ever wrapped there butt with a clear wrap similar to car vinyl?
or Used a ceramic coat?
or have another Idea to protect the finish. Like a flexible screen protector?

You worry about shit too much. It's a tool.

Show me a 10,000 dollar screwdriver and I'll buy you the butt pad.
Dude, seriously. I'm not trying to troll you, but you're gonna drive yourself literally insane if you keep worrying about shit that doesn't matter. Stress kills. It will lead to health problems.

Lets say worse case scenario... your butt gets scratched. Big whoop. Send it to proficient and get it re-finished for a few hundred. Or just play with it. Or get a cheap beater if you can't stand the thought of something going wrong.

Seriously, please just chill out with your insanity, nobody wants to hear your mental masturbation and games of what if every 30 minutes. Talk to a counselor or a psychiatrist/psychologist because the things you concern yourself are pretty abnormal. I'm not saying this to be a dick either. Talking to a qualified person would probably really improve your quality of life.

I am pretty gentle but still manage to find marks. If I took a picture of my P3 it would look crispy like yours. But if I rotate it in the light I can see lots of blemishes
I have to admit I'm a 1st class cue head case...but I enjoy my craziness. I bought a beautiful custom from the first SBE. Nicked it...sent it to Proficient for a refinish...never used it again. Have a beautiful bumperless Schon Hoppe. Nicked the butt...sent out for a refinish...nicked it again. Like others said it's a tool. They will show marks. Best bet is use what you like. Do not over spend. Know a guy has an early Predator sneaky. The shaft is blue. The butt is beat... I hate him😂

my best cue has a nick in the clear coat on the butt, does it peeve me?? yes, do I just play with it and try to ignore?? yes, again.

Sort of like your car, keep it as nice as you can, but some idiot in a parking lot will still ding you.
Someone said to me.... when you buy something pretend it's damaged or broken and enjoy it. THAT DOES NOT WORK. As for parking.... always a douche that gets too close for comfort.

Took a brand new 98 Taurus out to Albuquerque, parked at the dry cleaners and got a major ding the left rear door, more than an accident, looked like it was whacked with a piece of rebar, quarter inch deep, inch long. It was intentional, probably didn't like my Georgia license plate, no other stickers on car.

Fun story! Do people also go around whacking other peoples pool cues with big cat logos on them and such?

Any cue played with on a regular basis may develop some form of degradation from it's original new state - that's life with everything. You want a perfect cue- buy one and then never touch it again- just display it in glass or case it for life .

One of the paiful moments in my pool life...
