Butt repair question

I have a sneaky pete cue that a local repair guy put together for me many years ago. I have played with it for a long time and the joint broke, I had him replace the joint and have noticed there is a weird wobble in the cue now. I gave it back to him to try to fix and it is better but not totally gone. You can look down the cue and see where the shaft leans to 1 side slightly.

Is there a way to fix this? Its not a high end cue and has always had its minor imperfections but was always straight.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Will need a little info, When the joint was replaced I'm assuming that the joint pin was replaced ? It could be that the joint pin is still off a little still. Is the joint a wood to wood or is there an insert ? It could be as simple as re-facing the joint on the butt ? Hard to say exactly without more info. I'm leaning towards joint pin....

The pin is 5/16 x 14 piloted and it was an ivory joint that cracked but was changed to ivorine I believe. He said he did not do anything with the pin just the join collar.

Without knowing more and in the absents of photos it sounds like it may need both the butt and shaft faced.

I will try to add some pics tonight after sons football practice. The shaft is an OB-2 I got shortly before the joint collar broke so I doubt the shaft would be a problem but I will add pics later.

Jim, do you still have the old shaft? If so, my troubleshooting would go like this. Screw on the OB-2 shaft, and make a small mark on the butt with a crayon or side of a pencil lead. Screw on the old shaft and see if you have the same wobble/lean, and if it is in the same place as the mark on the butt. If it's gone then you may need to have the shaft refaced. In a different place then you may need to take a look to see if there's any trash or contaminants on the face of the butt. If it's in the same place as the mark, then you probably need to have the butt refaced. Or have someone check the pin.
 
I dont have the old shaft anymore. I tried to get some decent pics but the pics came out blurry and I doubt would lend any help to the problem. I have a feeling it has to do with the joint collar and or Pin. Would anyone be willing to look at it if I send it to you and if so any ideas on what its going to cost to repair it. The cue isnt really top end like I said but I would like it fixed if not too costly
