Butt sleeve and butt separation

I have a Schon cue and The butt and butt sleeve have seemed to separate. It’s not a gap, but a ridge. The sleeve with wood inlays is ever so higher that the white butt. Does this normally happen do to wood swelling? Schon says wood contracts and expands all the time, but I’ve never seen it happen on any of my other cues. It’s a bit hard to see in the pic, but its there.

You definitely got some movement there. Is this new or an old cue. What climate do you live in?

Handful of years old. Moved from CT to AK.

Things happen, But I have never once seen a Schon cue do that. Usually the wood shrinks over time if anything. Some plastics can shrink a touch too but rarely stay perfectly round when they do. It would be interesting to take measurements just in case it changes anymore so you can see what's actually moving.
