Butterflys and Fanelli, if this possible anymore?

When it comes to standard cue types, inlays, spliced points, there are alot of cuemakers that understand what each other are doing and can produce a similar looking product with the same general construction

As a fan of Butterfly points though, is there anyone living that even knows how to build the top level stuff that Paul was experimenting on?

The pics are not close up, but those butterfly designs on these blanks are elaborate in a way I have not seen from any other cuemaker.

What about this thing? Tiny sharp points coming out of the top of butterfly points looking like flames? All perfectly lined up. Can anyone living now do that? Do they even know exactly how it was done?

Even this thing, almost a "standard" cue for Fanelli, for anyone else this would be elaborate as anything they have ever done.

There are alot of cue builders out there that "can" build a butterfly point cue, some build truly great examples of standard to semi-fancy examples of butterfly cues. But Paul seems like the only one, to have decided to delve into Butterfly points only, fancy splicing, and invent new ways of putting stuff together to get some truly unreal and unique effects when the cues are turned. He was the only one tweaking stuff, dreaming up crazy new ways to put stuff together, and creating some seriously cool looking cues that are extremely hard to make.

I have looked long and hard and I cannot find another butterfly point cue maker that has anything near the level of instricasy and innovation that Paul has in the above examples. There are some guys doing great standard butterfly work, multiple butterflys yes, really nice wood, sure, but meshing so many straight cut points, multiple butterflys, points comming out of points? Noone is even attempting to touch this level of detail it seems, or I cannot find anyone with that level of detail, that much happenings in the butterfly cue, and so much variation between each cue to boot.

I look at those blanks, and I wonder, is that a lost art? The guy just died, but can anyone do that stuff? Does anyone have that level of understanding on the building of butterfly points anymore? Is anyone evel close to being able to recreate this level of detail without studying the actual cues and just trying to mimic/copy that actual cue?
