Butts that will fit a Tascarella shaft

I'm having a cue made by the Tascarellas that should be done at some point next year. I got the bright idea, like probably many others, that I could just pick up a cheaper butt to fit on one of the shafts to use as a bar banger and travel cue. I was just curious if anyone knew offhand of any custom or production makers whose butts would fit Pete's shaft pilots (without me having to have anyone fit it). I think Deano said they fit a Schon, which would make things easy, but I was just curious if there were any others.

And before you tell me to use the search function, I did. There's only one other thread like this and it was quickly derailed.

whatever joint pin your tasc has the shaft will fit a butt with a similar joint pin from any maker

I guess I should have been more specific. It's his piloted 5/16x14 stainless joint, which are not all created equal. For example, I don't think it would fit on a Joss butt.

EDIT: Beat me to it, Karl. You know what's up my man.

If it fits on a Schon it should fit on a Mezz or Exceed cue.
Very frustrating with the variations on what should have been a standard pin.

5/16x14 unless its an acme will fit a 5x16x14 shaft
i have 5/16x14 ob shafts that fit on my tacs/searing/scruggs/joss
the josswest 5/16x14 is an acme and requires a different tap

you guys seem to be the experts

I had a similar setup with an old Abe Rich cue that paired will with a TAD shaft. Its was 5/16x18. I think there was also a sleek looking Prather for sale a while ago that was fully cored ebony with maple and had a Showman shaft. Maybe send a note to Schmelke and get a but made that will fit your shaft (PJ birdseye, etc...)

all the tascs ive ever played with used 5/16x14. I currently have a tascarella shaft i'm playing with on my gus. Its very good and lively although its worn super thin now to about 11.5 from playing with it. The same shaft fit an old schon i use to own as well a showman. I own two early 70s joss cues and both fit the tasc shafts. I also own a scruggs titlist conv with the same ss 5/16x14 joint and everything seems to interchange. All the cues I list were all SS 5/16x14 piloted.

Not true as not all pilots are the same. And not all joints are a standard size.

ok guys
my tasc has his sleeved ivory joint with a piloted shaft
5/16x14
the pilot was too large for the space on my joss
although it screwed on the pin with no trouble
it fit with no problem on the searing /scruggs
so to amend my post above (not quoted)
you will need to be sure the joint of the cue you pick has enough room to accommodate the pilo

the shaft from my joss from early 2000?(my newer one) had no problem fitting on the tasc
not true for the shaft from my older joss.....
