Not quite correct. They have posted the next round usually before the prior round is complete. When they post it there are usually a few people whose name will say to TBD meaning to be determined. They are going to finish the draw when the final few people who are on the buyback window have determined if they are buying buying back or not. This draw in advance will makes play much faster. It is the cause of some irritation for a players when they report there win or loss and are immediatly told who they are playing next round I have heard *****ing when they are told they got a champion after just getting beaten by another champion. It is fair though and the system is pretty slick.
The system will allow a bye if the round if the player count is odd. The player who have byes is tracked and you cannot get a bye twice in a row. I am not sure if you can play the same player two rounds in row or not.
They basically commit the draw electronically and they show the names of everyone on the left side who either just came from winning or paid there buy-back. Your opponents name will show only if they just won or have paid their buyback. All potential names are used when the draw is executed. People who lose int he prior round and get eliminated via 2nd loss or do not exercise the buyback will be eliminated from this round and their hidden name is represented by a TBD is eliminated and the other players who also have a TBD are actually redrawn at that time so there is or can be a behind the scene secondary draw per round. You will notice that in a given round there is also a table wait number.The finalization is sometimes before or at the second table for a given round. I think it gives them some cushion to keep the tournament moving forward while the prior round is finishing.
That is probably confusing but from having attended, played and had multiple interaction with a the desk at both the DCC and also Tunica from last year that is how I understand it to work.

Having played dcc i can say it adds a lot of excitement and adds to the prize pot. Even to the last few players if the number is odd there is a bye and if they have one loss they can buy back to play to get to the finals.

Only a bye if it is an odd number, only 1 potential buy per round. As it works down there can be a late buy, but even that is interesting.
They have a start time for each round and the matchup and tables are posted on multiple screens at the venue as well as playing on the hotel room in house channel. It runs very smoothly.
