Buying tips on ebay: Who are the reputable sellers?

Man, you really love your tips. I have 217 ebay transactions and 100% feedback. I've sold about 30 items.

I've purchased many cue tips from ebay sellers in the past and have had nothing but bad experiences. Fake tips, cheap tips passed off as expensive tips, spongy rejected tips sent as quality hard tips. Terrible.

Anyone know which ebay sellers only sell quality tips and maybe even check them for hardness?.

if you're not paying attention to the feedback ratings, then proceded at your own risk. if you are, and the sellers have good ratings, then you can assume,,,,,,that the buyers and maybe even the sellers themselves are not discriminatory about their supplies and have no clue about quality. that's just "honest stupidity" or lack of knowledge.

If i were u,i will just stop buying tips at eBay.

Instead i will go to a pool shop and buy at there myself. If u buy things from internet,u cant expect 100% perfect.

Some of this sellers may not be honest.

This goes without saying, I've been using ebay for 8 years so i know what to expect. You're right, I can't expect 100% positive transactions, but I certainly don't expect 100% bad experiences.

Besides, the same things can happen at less than reputable billiard supply shops.

Ok mate,its up to u.

Just wanna wish u good luck if u gonna buy another tip on eBay again.Hope u wont get a bad one this time.

Regards...

Love my tips?. Huh?

I'm just looking for a reliable place to buy them like everyone else.

Congrats on your great ebay track record, not sure how that relates to my question?.
After I posted, I realized you were talking about sellers that sell tips.

No sarcasm mate,

I use to buy things on eBay,by using my father's credit card.So i only know a little bit of things over there.

Sorry if i have said something bad on ur thread.

Regards...

It's cool.

You haven't said anything bad. You just stated something rather obvious that didn't really pertain to my question. :D Just messing with you.

BTW - You do know that you're supposed to be 18 to use ebay right?.

Yup i do mate.

My father is the one who sign up on eBay,not me.

So not to worry mate.

Regards...

Have you considered buying tips from Atlas Billiard Supply?

Wow, after all that does anyone have an actual ebay seller they trust implictly?.

I'm interested in user ID's and links if you got em?.

Isn't there a billiard supply in your town? If not just mail order some from a reputable supply. How many tips do you buy at a time by the way.

I pay very close attention to feedback, but I belive most buyers don't care either way as you say.

There's a lot of holding feedback hostage on ebay. Sellers that won't leave feedback until the buyer has left positive feedback first. Since the buyers are afraid of leaving a negative comment (for fear of retaliation), they either don't leave feedback, or leave a positive one. Feedback is not always a reliable indication.

Personally, the only time I trust feedback is when a seller always leaves positive feedback the moment payment has been received. This way I know that any comment a buyer left was made with complete impunity. FWIW

if they're holding you feedback hostage, then they're doing it a lot. i know my wife got a seller on probation or banned or whatever by reporting the issue(she had all the seller's emails).

and obviously, you'll have to pick and choose what to buy. i would never buy anything on ebay that i know i'm partcular about.

Let's make it twenty one. The reason I said, "Man, you really love your tips." is because of the recent compilation of tip threads and now the thread on buying tips. It was meant to be somewhat of a joke. I was implying that you're obsessed with tips. Get it? Ha. Ha. Ha.
Anyway, regarding ebay tip sellers, I don't know what to tell you. Sorry.

This is not exactly true if the seller receives his or her money they can't leave feedback until the item arrives and the buyer has it in his or her possesion otherwise who's to say wether or not they got the item or if it was lost or stolen in transit , so the seller always has to wait, IMO

I use to leave feedback once I had the money but I stopped that because I felt the buyer should be the one to show that he received the item and was satisfied with it, it showed everything was OK or not

Sorry to correct you, but the seller on eBay can and should leave feedback as soon as they get their money. The buyer should leave feedback promptly when they receive the item. This is the only way to correctly do business on ebay.

I have had good experiences with americancowboybilliards and also with joerackem.

It's kind of like

Buying stuff on Ebay is kind of like marrying a
mail order bride from a foreign country that is
suppose to be a virgin.... lol And her best friend's
sworn statement that she is a virgin ...

Just remember, for every rule there is a way around it,
and the internet provides a good cover for those people
that are looking to scam someone ... Sometimes, just
driving a few miles can be cheaper than going through
the hassle of trying to get your money back from someone
that scammed you on Ebay.

Hey Tons

You ever dealt with this guy?

It's not eBay...but he takes Paypal I am sure and is a pleasure to deal with from what I hear.

http://www.wolfbite.com/tipsforsale.htm

Good price on his tips as well...minimum of 3, but thats easy to swing I think.

Hope it helps,
Shorty

I have sold alot of things on ebay and left feedbacks after receiving payments and the buyers don't leave feedbacks after there purchases and feedbacks left for them so this is why I'll never leave another feedback first if i'm the seller.

Thanks for your comment.

Is it really that less money to buy off of Ebay? Why not buy from reputable companies like PoolDawg or buy from your local billiard room. These retail sources donate money to promote pool. They sponsor players and go through the expense of evaluating products. They are our billiards source and they build the billiards business.

At fifty cents more or eve $50 more, consider those that give back to the billiards industry.

One honest ebay seller i can recommend is a saver84 :ebay profile:

I've bought quite a few tips off him and never had any problems. Some tips that he sent got lost in the post somewhere and he sent some more out free of charge!

He only sells Tiger tips but thats suits because i love those Tiger Everests!
