We're having a small tourney @ our Elks club tomorrow evening, kinda a year-end finale. How do you set a calcutta? Do you auction players, can a player bid on himself? Payouts? Would this ad interest to a small tourney or not?

Yep just auction off each player. A player can bid on himself. If someone buys you, you have the option of buying half of yourself. The pay out can be whatever you want.

This Is A Great Way To Add Interest To A Small Tourney. I Run A Bar Tournament Every Month With A Ten Dollar Entry. With The Calcutta And You Buy All Of Yourself Its Around 600 Dollars To Win. The Weaker Players Spend Ten To Get In And Five Or Ten Bucks To Buy Themselves In The Calcutta With The Chance At 600. This Way The Weaker Players Are Not Scared Off By High Entry Fees And They Have The Shot At Big Money With Only Twenty Bucks Total Leaving There Pocket.

some places I go auction off the player(s) of your choice...first, second, and maybe third goes to who ever the high bidder chooses,,,takes the problem of waiting for the person you really want to bid on.. J

Small Tourny

I have seen it in small tournys and big tournys. They always tend to add interest, and make it more fun. I know people that make more off of it than they do off the actual tournament.
