Cambodia/Asian Pool action????

kostas

Check it!
I was wondering if any travelling players know if there is any 9 ball, 10 ball pool in Cambodia. If so could you elaborate on any action there may be.

Any feed back and experience on where to find action in Asia would be great.

There is some action in Vietnam which is just an hour drive to the border. Also If you are looking for some I would be willing to play.

I have been through indonesia and there is plenty of action.

They have many different types of tables. The nice places have very good equipment, pool tables as well as billiard and of course air conditioning. There are smaller places that are open to the air with no ac as well. But pretty much there are enough larger, nicer rooms to choose from in ho chi minh city. One place that I frequent that is more of a bar/club but has 1 table that is the single best playing table I have ever played on. I think I have a pic of it, I will see.

As far as action the 2 larger matches I was involved in involved several thousand usd changing hands but those were more the exception. I've also played some challenge matches for bottles of whiskey where the loser pays and we all share after. The bottles go for like 80 bucks so not bad deal for the winner;)

This is the only photo I have of the table. I actually don't even know the make. It's Korean.

For anyone who wants to play pool in asia.... this is for you!
I can officially say there is no action in Cambodia. There is only one sports bar with reasonable slate tops but they use old chipped to buggeries low grade balls which defeats the purpose of having the best tables probably in cambodia. All tables in cambodia have wood tops and dont expect to hear from any cambodian coming through the ranks. Unless someone invests in such an ideal sport for the country. They love their snooker and even the tables they play on are the worst i have ever played on.
The rest of asia has not let me down so all in all there is plenty of action but its fair to say you have to look for it, as there are alot of untold stories available on the net.:sorry:
