Camera for recording games at home

I was interested in finding a camera that could be attached to my diamond light on the edge somewhere to record sessions played on my home table. Something to record practice or games played with friends in case a nice shot is pulled off. Something preferably wired so i dont have to worry about batteries. Anyone have anything like this set up?

Im wondering if something like a go pro is the way to go.

I like my Sony handi cam, 4K image!!! I have a tripod set up to view table. I have a tv on the wall next to table and run camera to tv via a hdmi cord for live viewing or instant playplay using the camera controls, or I down load the entire video into my laptop for a more complete analysis.

There’s really no need to have a camera directly above. You can position it to view the entire table quite well around the 5-6 feet high mark. Plus being mobile you can move it around like maybe directly in front or behind and see what your body or hands are doing. Flexiblity with position I think is more important here,
Just my two cents. Also check out Instagram and search for pool or 8ball etc. there’s 1000’s of small vids that will sample different viewing angles and heights for examples!

I found that the camera on my phone was the best tool for the job. I used the gripping part of a selfie stick, with some go-pro like mounting attachments to mount it almost anywhere.
