It is a black type.....All kidding aside, it could be a kamui black, Kamikaze, navigator, Ultra Skin black, etc. Unfortunately there is no real way to tell.

No malice intent here, just that you are asking a hypothetical question and there is no way to tell who's tip it is unlesss you do the history of the owner, his location and who might have installed the tip. It does look like it was well loved, because it's still on that shaft lol

The tip looks two tone in color. Black and gray. There was a layered buffalo leather tip that looked like that.The people who used to import the Hercules tip imported them. They got out of the tip business and I have not seen anyone selling them in years.
