Can i put a pool table in my apartment?

you are 100% incorrect......Call local law enforcement and ask if you can disturb the peace at anytime of the day.not just if sound exceeds a certian decibel.... Anytime you have a noise complaint and local law enforcement is sent out they will ask you to tone it down...............there is no such thing as blast as loud as you want during certain hours.....you can disturb the peace at anytime during the day.....

I did look up the WA laws on this subject.

Here is what I understand. If I wanted to run my lawn mower during the afternoon I am totally within my rights to do so. Or lets say I wanted to practice playing the piano at 3pm? You are telling me I cannot do either if somebody that lives close to me doesn't want to hear it? Furthermore, I am not sure how playing pool could ever be described as disturbing the peace.

I doubt the lease would specifically prohibit you from slaughtering cows with a chainsaw in your apartment either ... doesn't mean you won't be evicted.

If a landlord gets enough complaints from your neighbors you will be told to get rid of the table or move out. That being said, I have a friend that lives in an apartment and has a table. He doesn't sledgehammer the breaks, doesn't play past about 9:30 at night on weeknights, and keeps things low key. I would think if you were practicing or playing a quiet game with a buddy you would not have a problem. Just watch the breaks late at night and you will probably be fine. Put a carpet under it and if you have a noisy ball return, think of insulating it.

Since you are obviously going to do this, I wish you luck and friendly or deaf neighbors. However, I do wonder why you titled the post as a question when you had every intention of putting a table in your apartment regardless of what people had to say.

A landlord cannot evict you without reason. Also, I am sure you need a license to slaughter animals and it would most likely violate numerous laws about live stock and residentals areas and what not. So that would be grounds to evict.

Owning a pool table on the other hand most likely is not. That would be like the landord trying to tell you cannot have a dining room table.

I will say that multiple noise complaints could lead to eviction but this has already been discussed. You are prefectly within the boundaries of a noise ordinance to play some pool during the day.

I owned a 4 1/2 x 9 that I moved 5 times.

I had my table set up in 3 different apartments. I never had a problem or complaint. With the neighbors I just told them hey if I forget the time and disturb you just give a knock on the wall and I will quit it. Apartment living does go better if you get along with the neighbors. I never asked for permision nor saw a need to. There was never anything in the lease to prohibit a pool table and as a former apartment manager for several complexes in Washington and California I have never seen such a lease.
I moved and set up my 4 1/2 x 9 at least 5 times by myself with nothing more than a hand truck. Even put it up stairs twice. Guess being a carpenter/furniture maker has some advantages.

After its set up you could just ask your neighbors if they can hear it, if not, you can play anytime without worry.

However, I do wonder why you titled the post as a question when you had every intention of putting a table in your apartment regardless of what people had to say.

I was debating on getting one because i never actually talked or knew someone who had one in their apartment. But after responses from all those that do and even a couple of landlords being positive i then decided to get one.If those were negative responses i wouldnt do it.My table is only a 7ft so there should not be any problem with a soft break. Some might even prefer a soft break on a 7ft,especially in 9 and 10 ball. And i probably wont have to whack a ball to get position and that size table.I ordered brunswick centennial tv balls along with simonis 860hr.Im going to have it installed professionally, does anyone know if i tip them or just offer them beer?:D
