Can I tell if my newly purchased predator shaft came with a medium tip?

I recently purchased a Predator REVO 12.4 mm (5/16x14 Joint - White Vault Plate) shaft, directly from the predatorcues.com website, and it's sold with a Predator Victory soft tip. But I opted to have, and paid $29.00 to have, the soft tip replace with a Predator Victory medium tip.

So my quesstion is:
Is there a way I can tell if Predator actually replaced the default soft tip with a medium tip? Because I'd hate to think that I paid an extra $29.00 for a medium tip, and they just shipped shaft as is with a soft tip (for example, they just forgot to do the replacement and/or thinking I wouldn't be able to tell the difference)?

Because I've been playing APA league for over 20 years, and have always used various medium tips, and it's my understanding that softer tips mushroom faster, and since all but two billiard/pool shops in my area have closed, it will be a little more difficult to get my cues service than it was years ago?
 
With all that experience, would'nt you be able to tell if the tip you got was a medium or a soft? I tried a Predator Medium on a Vantage and it was a lot softer than a Kamui Medium
 
I know the cow is out of the barn here, but if I was getting a tip change, i would choose a tip that is visibly different than the stock tip. A zan, tiger, any black or tan tip. It might not be what you really asked for still but you know they did something.

Since I've been playing league, I've only had medium tips on my playing cues, and super hard tips on my break cues. So I guess what you're saying is that if they forgot to replace the tip, then I will be able to tell just by shooting with it? I just ordered the shaft a few days ago and it's scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.

The default tip (which I'm assuming they automatically put on all their non-break cue shafts) is a soft tip, and if you want a medium or hard tip instead, it'll cost you $29.

I understand that just don’t understand why it cost more. If they put the soft tips on by machine why not just load the machine with medium or hard tips once in a while for players that prefer those? If they put them on another way investment in labor should be the same

I have been the same way, it's ether medium or hard tips I use.last month I brought a cue which had a real nice tip. I could tell straight away it wasn't,medium or hard. So it had to be a soft. Its first layered soft I've ever tried. I thing I didn't know, is you can hit the ball, a bit firmer with these kind of tips, and get more out of it. If you play enough. It will eventually turn into a medium anyway. And mine had just little bit of mushrooming.
I'm sure you will be able to tell the difference.

You already have 11.8, 12,4 and 12.9 variations, adding a medium tip to the mix, means you need to double up your stocks in the warehouse to accomodate the medium tip. For those buying $500, shafts, $29 should not be an issue to get a tip that you want...

For those charging $500 for a shaft it shouldn’t be a problem either .. just saying

I don't think or believe that they are out to screw you for $29 or that they just innocently forgot. Most businesses that offer options like that are probably pretty careful to fulfill the order correctly especially in this day and age of social media and the hurt it can cause to a business.

Can you tell if it is the medium tip? Probably not unless you are really familiar with those tips. Only way to be sure in the future is buy and do your own tip installations. Many of us do our own with just common hand tools. You get good at it fast if you don't want to screw up a $20 or so tip!!:eek:

Could be a phone call to Predator and asking about it might get you some answers better than asking here.
