Can I tell if my newly purchased predator shaft came with a medium tip?

At some point I will need to learn how to change my tips. I take mine to a guy with a nice lathe. I know the lathe isn't strictly necessary, but if I was changing a tip and there was a lathe sitting there, I would use it, so I'm going to the guy with the lathe. This Triangle looks like it should give me a good 6 months, the tips before that quit at about 4 months. One day I would notice they were getting thin around the sides and a week later they were useless.
I do mine by hand. I’ve gotten quite good at doing them. they look just as good as if they were done on a lathe.

I also think I’ll put more care into doing my own tips too. Years ago I had people come and see me to put on tips.

Idk. I ordered a cue from Seyberts and requested 20 oz and it came 19. Didn't bother to put a weight bolt in.

That’s why I learned how to change my own tips. It was $10 at a time and this was 20 years ago. I’m using a layered tips now. What’s good about them is they are pretty consistent tip to tip. I go through tips fast. I’ve probably changed about 6-7 in the last year and very consistent. To me it’s worth the $20+

This is also how I do it, like you I can through alot trying to find one I like. That's layered or solid. Once I found a nice one, and done the shaping. I leave slightly over size to see if the tip, is actually any good. Play it in bit before, I make my mind up. After that, I get a nice seamless feel between ferrule and tip. And just leave it alone, Tips can last a very long time. If you don't mind them getting harder over time. My longest is a year. These days though, most will last 4 or 5 months before thay wear down to far. I do it this way, as I just go though too meny to justify, having someone changing tips, that I won't like. It really isn't that hard for anyone to do, just takes some practice. I watched a what's in the bag with ko pin yi. He also installs his own tips.
