Chris,
Grizzley has the menzerna paste and sticks.
As to using a soft cloth, would work if only you handled your cue, but you can't believe the stuff that gets on them at shows.

You mean like, food, beverages, dings, scrapes to Oh my God, what are you doing.

Yeah everybody becomes Tom Cruise when they pick up your most expensive cue.

I use baby wipes to clean the shaft of my Gilbert and the butt of the cue, and havent had a single problem.

I know several guys who use baby wipes on thier cues to clean up the butt and shaft of the cue, and they've been doing it for years, and havent had problem one.

30% alcohol, 70% water and a small drop or two of baby shampoo. No tears Johson is better. Appx ratio in a 6 to 8 oz bottle. Your mixture may very.

I use the mixture to clean my glasses and glossy parts of a cue. Personally I use pure denatured alcohol on the shaft and wrap. Sometimes I use it on the whole cue. All those pads are is soaked in a large percentage of alcohol and small amounts of names I can't spell. LOL

so, it sounds to me like we have determined that windex doesn't hurt clearcoat
just makes sense to me
if windex was damaging to clearcoat, imagine how many cars clear would be trashed from people cleaning thier windows

I'm no chemist or body man so of coarse I'm no expert but just another person with an opinion. I've used windex on shafts thousands of times over the years and as far as I know I've done no damage to the finish on the end of the cue. Earlier, someone stated that ammonia should never be used on any wood. I have to disagree with this as I have been using ammonia for cleaning shafts for many years now. In fact, the only reason I use Windex is when I'm out of ammonia. Ammonia cleans a shaft much better than alcohol and there is no better substance for swelling a dent than ammonia. It is thinner than water so it soaks deeper and faster into the shaft and it boils at a much lower temperature than water so as to "steam" out a dent quicker and with less heat.
