I bought a used table and had it moved from a garage to my basement.
The mechanic showed up by himself, tightened up his belt and carried the 1" slates into his van.
Said he can't make living paying help all the time so he does it himself. I was amazed, I'm 5'8" 160, and this dude was smaller than me. He did bring some help getting it down to my basement stairs the next day.
Can you guys typically handle a piece of slate on your own?

I can. But then again, I'm 6'1 and weigh 350+, played football in high school and college and even today, at 42 years old, I go to the gym 5 to 6 days a week.

NO WAY!!!

This guy may be able to do it now but his body will pay the price and he will feel it later in life.

I would try to help him even though he'd just shoo it off. That's nuts. It's not impossible but it's more than the job is worth.
