This cue is just a great example of all the fantastic reviews that Mike Capone has received over the years regarding his cue making skills and the end product that results from those skills. Purchased about 4 years ago from an AZ member, this cue remains in superb condition - always cased, always climate controlled, smoke free, very limited usage and meticulously cleaned after every use. Continuing to thin out some of my cues- my Scruggs Hoppe went out a few months ago to another AZer.
Cue features Four LONG, SHARP, EVEN Ebony points ( within one inch of the joint collar) into BEM. FIVE Veneers ( from the inside out: white, blue, white, green, black). ebony and ivory dash joint ring with an ivory sleeved wood joint and Mike's standard engraved radial SS pin. White with blue spec Linen wrap - Mike's point and wrap work is unsurpassed. Ebony butt sleeve with ivory Hoppe ring. All the ebony is jet black on this cue. Cue is 58 inches, cue butt is 15.5 oz. One shaft is 3.6 oz with 12. 8mm at the tip and a longer pro taper, the second shaft is 3.9 oz. and 13mm at the tip with Mike's more standard European type taper. Both shafts have matching ebony and ivory dash collars, as well as newer ultraskin tips and Mike's standard non- ivory ferrules. Shafts are clean and ding free.
The cue is cored by Mike for stability and playability. Mike does not use weight bolts- his cue building skills are phenomenal. Capone cues' playability is legendary. Mike's cues are now hard to find on the secondary market. No wonder there! The cue presents almost as new!
