i could not find alot about the different brands
what brands are considered among the "best"
which ones have the lowest deflection?
this is not a thread to debate is carbon fiber shafts better or worse than wood
just would like to know players experience with various carbon fiber carom shafts
thanks in advance

I have a Longoni CF 3 cushion shaft. Plays great but i have a friend who has the Predator 3c shaft and i think it plays great as well.

Well, I have tried Predator, both std and stiff flexes, Becue, and mine of course. I was disappointed in the Predator shafts, though if you are a cross-over player they may feel more comfortable. The Becue and mine play very similar, with the proviso that my standard length is 2 cm longer. If mine is trimmed to Becue standard length, mine is certainly stiffer given that both are conical tapers. I must bow to Becue in one regard, you can order their shaft in a half-dozen joints whereas mine is of course only suited to my cues. I built a butt with the Uniloc joint to try the Predator and Becue shafts, it plays just fine. Of course I win the pricing contest, but only if you are playing one of my wood-thread cues.

im thinking about a 3c cue

i cannot use conical taper
what other kind of taper should i be looking for that could be similar to a pro taper but powerful just not as large as a redwood tree in the shaft

I'd say the revo?

Your pool cue (shaft) doesn't do it for you?

A couple of my buddies play with their pool cues and are fine with em. One has a 3c shaft and prefers to use the pool one

the cuetec is perfect for all but power shots like full ball hit , unless i choke up which i forget to do sometimes
and really dont want a cracked ferrule
other than that i dont have any issue with it
ill most likely stick with the cuetec tho, just curious to know what else is out there in tapers other than the standard straight taper

Pedro, Mazin and many others use the Tiger "Eiffel" taper (CPro) taper that I now use for the same reason, I can't play with a strong conical taper. This taper feels very comfortable to me and I can still aim with lol. It's not as stiff of a hit, so not quite the same power as a conical taper, but life is all about choices.

My cue is a Tiger cue with 2 butterfly veneers (not sure of the model) that I bought through Gilbert Najm. I didn't care for the sniper tip that came with and now have a TechnoDud installed and like it better.
