Carbon Fiber Shaft Question - Crack?

I've got a carbon fiber shaft that I've been using with my Lucasi cue. Every now and then the hit sounds funny. Almost like there is a crack in it. Has anybody ever experienced this before with a CF shaft? It's black so it's hard for me to see if there is a crack somewhere.

Clean it REALLY good then get a bright led flashlight and look closely from tip to joint. If there's a crack you should spot it.

Probably a bad tip and that needs to be replaced.

I have done some repairs on CF shafts. I would use super glue and fill the scratch/dig and let it dry. Scrape off the excess glue with a razor blade till smooth. I then sanded the area with 3000k sandpaper.

Does the "funny" hit sound really pingy?

If so, it probably means on those shots you're gripping the butt looser. I love hearing that sound because it means I'm not death gripping the cue.

I like it when my cue sings to me, be it a wood, kielwood, or CF shaft. They all have a pretty voice if you don't put a choke hold on them.
