Carom shot vs Billiard shot: definitions

Thanks for everybody's feedback. I tend to agree that there may be a technical distinction, but each of the two words can also have more than one meaning, depending upon the context in which they are used.

Now, what the heck does the term "Carom Billiards" mean? ;)

From The Book of Definitive Definitions:

Carom Shot (also commonly referred to as a Billiard Shot): a lucky shot in which the shooter pretends to have purposely missed one ball in order to make another. See Slop Shot.

In order from a Carom Shot to count, the shooter must, after completing the shot, say "I thought that would happen."

If this is correct, then I am an expert at Carom shots! :)
