Carpet & Gold Crown - How To Restore?

I had my Gold Crown IV moved the other day. It was in my upstairs apartment, sitting on carpet. Where the circular feet sat, the carpet now has those big, smashed down areas.

How do i bring those smashed down areas back to life? I've been told to put ice on them. I've also been told a steam iron but just the steam, not the iron.

Try vacuuming. See if you can slowly get the carpet to lift in those areas. If you use steam buy an inexpensive steamer from WalMart

I've had pretty good luck with the steam iron method. Rough up the nap a little, sprinkle a little water on the carpet, cover it with a towel, and then hit it with a blast of steam from the iron. Repeat as necessary.
