Case Art

You brought back a 4 year old post? Keep trying to stir the pot.......

Of course we all know how JB works. However all that post does is prove he is knee deep in the Jiasen factory and for all we know commissioned the Rex line of cases.

Dear JV,

classiccues.com is quite a reputable website for cues and I have dropped by your website quite a few times just to take a look at the nice cues that your site is selling.

What you say here does carry some weight in the pool universe due to the good reputation that classiccues.com has.

May I know if this is a statement or an assumption?

This post is quite damaging if you do not have evidence to back up what you have posted.

I bought cases from John Barton before and he puts so much time into 1 case order just to make sure that all details are captured before he starts on the order.
He would be a hypocrite if he puts so much heart into 1 custom order and encourages case copying at the same time.

if this is just an assumption on your part, please indicate so.

I would like to see evidence from you to back up your post.
I am sure that there are quite a number of JB Cases customers here who wants to know this as well.

if this is a statement by you and you can prove that your statement is true, I will stop buying cases from him and stop talking about his cases in the pool universe.

I am sure that many people will do the same thing as I would if you are able to back up your post.

Thanks.

Allen Hopkins Junior put away his dad's Fellini to carry the HT-006 Dragon case.

Allen Hopkins senior thought it was underpriced at $1700.

CC - The prices are listed on the for sale section of the board. I usually do not include prices when I show on this section as this one is for appreciation of the work without regard to what it costs.

Thank you everyone for the compliements.

I want to to share the story of these cases with you;

These cases come from the Jiasen Cue Case factory. Last year I began working with Jiasen and they were doing some decent cases but with the typical problems associated with people who copy cases without any knowledge of the game.

At the time they were doing very crude but decen tooled imitations of Instrokes and credible copies of Whittens.

I fixed their issues with construction quality and encouraged them to think beyond copying. I worked with them on design and guided them without doing the work for them.

About eight months ago they indicated that they wanted to get into the carving aspect of decoration after seeing some of the JB Case work. So they hired a tooler and artist, hired someone skilled in painting and dyeing leather and put their best sample maker in charge of construction.

Then they asked me what themes they should do. I said that they should do what they know best so that it comes from the heart. This is how the Jiasen collection of Chinese art was born. They took their own myths and legends and transfered the art to cue cases.

I have watched these cases develop slowly and could barely contain my excitement these past months. Many times I have wanted to show the world and I have let a few pictures leak to select folks.

Jiasen has gone from a smallish factory producing decent copies to a world class casemaker in their own right. I am proud to say that I had a part in it. I cannot claim any part in the artistry displayed here as the creativity and execution is wholly to the credit of Mr. Wang and his talented team at Jiasen.

Relevant parts are bolded and enlarged. As you can see John did not encourage copying back then in 2007 and does not do so now.

people on here always argue! But I like to know where the hell I can buy HT-006 jaisen's case?????
