I am trying to remember the name of a case maker who worked for Fellini then went out on his own. I have one of the first cases but it is not marked.
You're thinking of Ann Gore, who started working for Robert Hempel making Fellini cases. Ron Thomas is another who started making in this style.I remember a similar style by Kelly and there was a woman I think named Annie who has since passed away.
That's it it's a Kelly case. I bought it for my wife for Christmas around 1982 I forgot it was a lady.remember a similar style by Kelly and there was a woman I think named Annie who has since passed away.
Good to hear. I vaguely remember talking to her on the phone when I ordered the case. It was an early one as it is not marked on the lock. Later if I remember right, they were engraved with Kelly. She's still alive (not still making cases though).
Why is the label in that case say Texas? Did she label cases if she had designed herself when she worked for Fellini?Kelli Cases were made in Tennessee. They had something to do with Bill McDaniel and named after his daughter I believe. Kelli cases are not marked and are smaller than a Fellini. Ann Gore left Fellini and started Ann Gore/Manx. I posted an interview I did with her. She is retired and does not seek the limelight if you know what I mean. Ann Gore / Manx cases have labels.

Because that's an Ann Gore case and she made Fellini style cases. Kelli cases were made under the direction or by Bill McDaniel and were not labeled and were one tube size slimmer than a Fellini caseWhy is the label in that case say Texas? Did she label cases if she had designed herself when she worked for Fellini?
They are slim. I had a Schuler that would not fit with both shafts.Because that's an Ann Gore case and she made Fellini style cases. Kelli cases were made under the direction or by Bill McDaniel and were not labeled and were one tube size slimmer than a Fellini case
