case prob

I have a action 3x5 tube style case, nothing special, just a reg. case. I just bought a carom cue which is shorter than a reg cue and when i put it in the case it goes all the way in and I have to turn the case upsides down to get it out. The same with my break and playing cues, although not as far down. I know this is a minor prob, but still annoying. I'm pretty sure one of you clever AZ'ers have dealt with this prob and have a nifty solution, maybe drop a 2 inch dowel in first to take up the space ?

Make a spacer using a dowel or a plastic tube. In that type of case you should be able to get it out when you need to by turning the case over.

i came up with a pretty cool fix if I do say so myself, I cut 3- 1inch dowels into the length needed to bring cues 1 1/2 out of top of case, then cut 3- 3/8 dowels for the shaft holes, wrapped them all in tape to soften them a bit and presto, perfect!
