looking to have a custom case made, whitten, justis, etc.. Anyone have one for sale? Is anyone familliar with onque cases? what are the opinions on these cases? oh yeah 2x4 only

My opinion, go with the Justis. They all weigh a ton, and all protect your cues equally well. I just think the Justis has better resell value if you ever want to part with it. His new Pro-Lite design is also nice as well.

Onq Cases

I Have A Case From Onq That I Custom Designed And I Love It. Very Sturdy Construction. Great Communication During The Ordering/building Process. Fair Pricing, And Timely Delivery. Just My 2 Cents. If You Want I Can Post Pics So You Can Check It Out.(not For Sale Though, Just Another Example For You To See.)

Justis is nice i personally have three Whitten cases right now and if you need it immediatly there are a couple of Steve Price cases on e-bay he isnt taking anymore custom orders but the cases are great .........

Do you have links to Steve Price cases? .. not familiar with this one.

I dont know how to link to e-bay but the item #for the 1x2 is #7189106509 from there if you go under his "other items for sale" you should get to the 2x4 case.........

Justis is the way to go, his new cases are very lite and his skill is above all the other guys mentioned. Jack is very easy to work with and with his new technology he can pretty much put anything you want on your case to customize it, he has matched cases to the cues in them and also does other custom work besides just your name, like I said almost any pic you give him he can reproduce on a case. What price range are you in??

I have 2 42-F (2x4) Whitten cue cases and i'm very pleased with them. They are high quality cases and i've tried other cases on the market, but my choice is the Whitten case.

thanks for the info jimbo, i dont want anything real fancy just something alittle different from the rest (although matching it to my predator 99-6 is a nice idea) Dont really want to pay more than about 650 or 700. Tried to call jack on monday to discuss pricing and options just got the machine and have not heard back yet, no biggie not in a real rush.Did the internet thing and looked at some of his stuff and really like it, would like to see one in person but out here in no mans land kind of hard to do. Everyone around here is pretty interested in the newest fad, 2piece cues.

I am shocked that no one has mentioned Jim Murnack cases. 2-months ago this Forum was full of people ranting and raving about how great they are. I'm still waiting on mine - I had him change a few things so my wait is a little longer than some other AZers.

Before even thinking about a Justis, I highly recommend that you check out JIM MURNACK CASES, and do a search here for threads from about 1-2 months ago.

I have cases from Jim Knot and Flowers (both pretty rare), but I know I will have the only Murnack case in this neck of the woods, and plan on carrying it exclusively.

Include Ron Thomas in your shopping. He makes gorgeous tube-style cases with slip-on tops. You can choose from a wide array of exotic skins, and you can go with a plain tube or add a locking-clasp and I believe a shoulder strap. The insides are well made and offer protection second to none. I was blown away by his display at Valley Forge this year; even my wife, who's indifferent to pool, was impressed by his cases. Although they must be seen in person, you can get an idea of what his cases are like here. I'll be at Valley Forge bright and early next year to buy one. I have one of his 1 x 2 vinyl cases (he doesn't make them anymore) and wouldn't part with it.

By all means check out Justis and Whitten, and Murnack sounds like a good bet too.

You can't go wrong with any of the cases mentioned in the previous emails. I would choose, in order of preference, the following (I have either owned or have friens who have owned these):
1) Jack Justis - well constructed and will hold it's value well
2) Jay Flowers - very similar in construction to Jacks, a little harder to come by and are a little more expensive, but I've seen some really neat tooling.
3) Whitten - weighs a ton. Reasonably priced, particularly if you can find one second hand. I consider them a portable cue vault.
4) Ron Thomas - More famous for his 1X2 creations. Similar to the old It's George, but uses better quality leather prints, and has really neat exotics.
