I'm trying to repair a case for a customer. He knocked the wooden bottom out and lost a couple of the springs. Any ideas as to where replacements can be purchased?

I've never seen case springs, though I've heard of them.

You should be able to find just about any shape, diameter, length of spring you want at your local Ace Hardware.

Springs are a lot more than length, diameter, shape.

The most important factors when choosing springs is the infinite life deformation value and the spring rate. You can easily choose a spring that will fit, but you could easily be over-deforming it in normal use, which means that it will fail prematurely. You can also choose a spring that fits which will be too weak to perform the job.

I would contact the case manufacturer.

The type of springs used in these cases is not typically found at the hardware store. If you can't get them then you can use foam rubber from the fabric store and in a pinch you could even use the EVA type of hard foam rubber from a pair of flip flops.

I can't stand cases with springs in them. Whenever I used to repair cases with springs I always took them out and replaced them with foam rubber.

Thanks for the replys, but in Vegas APA in August, someone was selling replacement springs. Hard to believe no one here knows of him.
