Case to deep will foam be bad to use

Hello ,

I just got a new case and the shafts sit perfect but the butts sit a little to deep even with joint protectors on and it is hard to get them out , I found some 1/2 foam pipe covering and thought that would work and I can cut to length and drop it in. Would there be any issues with that. Like any reaction with a cue finish or anything. I do not believe it will take a very big piece. Just wanted to make sure that I would not damage anything. Thanks
 
Thanks Johnny . I bought this foam which it says Foam insulation like you would slide over a pipe but it looks like the perfect size and is springy to so I thought it would work great , I just wanted to make sure there would be no issues with the finish on the cue . Thanks
